RULES & FAQ
Some guidelines....We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone (contestant & spectators included) not obeying all posted or online rules. Offenders may be asked to leave the property.
The times splits between the divisions for a 4D format show may be either 0.5 - 0.5 - 0.5 second splits or 0.5 - 0.5 - 1 second splits, and splits for a 5D format will be 0.5 second between all divisions. Format subject to change based on participation. Youth classes are for ages 17 & under.
We use a 30-65-80 pattern (D - closed gate). The location of each barrel and the timer will be staked or otherwise marked to ensure the proper placement of the barrels.
All runs will be timed utilizing electronic eyes. If timer malfunctions, contestant will be given a re-run. If a re-run is given, it will be up to the producer and the contestant to decide when the re-run will take place. Re-runs will not be given for contestant's equipment breaking or for a rider’s decision to pull up.
Every effort will be made to provide safe and even ground for all contestants. The ground will be worked with our Ground Hog drag at regular intervals (every 5-7 runs depending on conditions). We will do a full (or "big") drag every 50 runners. Typically, we will not drag for PeeWee events.
Contestants must be ready when called. Failure to be in position in the holding area will result in a disqualification. Only contestants may be in The Mosh PIT holding area during the drag.
To enter the PeeWee Barrel event, participant must be 10 years of age or under and may NOT enter any other events. PeeWee runs cannot carry over into the Open or other events. PeeWee fees (whether collected as an entry fee or office fee) will be paid back at 100%. PeeWee format and payouts decided day of race based on participation, but typically we will pay out in a 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, etc. format and will pay out as many places as possible.
It is easy for our software to "swap" draw numbers, so no problem if you want to trade draw numbers - just let us know. It is NOT an option to swap rider/horse combos. You can sell your spot, but the original name on the draw will be called & counted.
There are NO REFUNDS. We can sometimes change or remove an entry before the draw is out (and we want to help when we can because we understand things happen), but once the draw is out, we CANNOT make changes, so a 'canceled' entry will be a scratch. If an event in 2020 is rescheduled or canceled by The PIT, your entry will transfer in full to the another date in 2020 OR should you wish to cancel your entry for a refund, we will refund your entry fess, less the office and checkout fees.
All carryovers MUST be designated at time of entry.
100% of all advertised added money will be paid as prize money, while a minimum of 75% of entry fees will be paid as prize money. The number of places paid and the payoff percentages for each place are may vary per event. Payouts will typically made via Venmo using the contestant's phone number. You can sign up for a Venmo account HERE. If Venmo is not an option for you, please let us know.
No low-cut tops or open-backed shirts. Shirts must not show the lower back, the front or any part of the midriff.
No dogs in the arena. All dogs must be on a leash. Do not tie dogs to the arena fence or panels.
The PIT uses My Horse Sport software to manage our events. You will receive text and/or email notifications with your draw number, time after your run, and results at the end of the event.
It is not required, but you can also create an online portfolio & My Horse Sport will create a "Race History" for you, which will keep track of your stats. If this sounds cool (trust us...it's awesome), register HERE to get a My Horse Sport account set up. If you have a RodeoGo ID, you can use this info to log into My Horse Sport (your user name & password will be the same).
We may also send information to you regarding upcoming events, schedule changes due to weather, etc. We will not share your info with anyone ever. If you wish to opt out, please contact us.
